Don Frame Landfill has 17 groundwater monitoring wells, 16 of which have been polluted above federal advisory levels based on samples collected between October 18, 2011 and October 30, 2015. Groundwater at this site contains unsafe levels of manganese, sulfate, boron, molybdenum, cadmium, arsenic, barium and lead.

Site description

The Don Frame Fly Ash Landfill accepts waste from the Dunkirk Generating Station. The landfill has been found to have contaminated drinking water wells with lead, sulfate, and manganese. The site was made inactive in 1988 and has since been re-vegetated.
