Site description

Asbury Generating Station was a 232-MW facility with two coal-fired units located in Asbury, Missouri in Jasper County. The station was first built in 1970 and is owned by Empire District Electric Company. Unit 2 was retired in 2013 and Unit 1 in 2020. Asbury has one surface impoundment regulated under the federal coal ash rule.
