Site description

Granite Shore Power’s Merrimack Generating Station is in Merrimack County, near the Merrimack River. The plant has two coal-fired units, built in 1960 and 1968 respectively, and two kerosene-fueled units, with a total capacity of 482 MW. The Station primarily operates during peak demand, especially during winter months. The adjacent Coal Ash Landfill began operating in 1978. The 5.5-acre landfill is regulated under the CCR rule.

You can find the industry-reported data here. For more information about the Merrimack Generating Station, see EIP's 2019 National Coal Ash Report.
