Wisconsin Energy’s Presque Isle Power Plant was a five-unit coal-fired power plant that had been online since 1974. The plant is located near Lake Superior in Marquette, Michigan. The plant used to have five units with a total capacity of 450 MW. The power plant was retired in March 2019. The Ash Landfill No.3 near the plant is regulated under the CCR rule. The Presque Isle Plant is listed among the U.S. EPA's potential damage cases, indicating that it has polluted groundwater or surface water at levels which threaten human health and the environment.
