Site description

Dominion Generation's Virginia City Hybrid Energy Center is located in St Paul, Virginia. Commissioned in 2012, this plant reclaims gob coal (or waste coal), as well as biomass, to produce electricity. It has a total capacity of 610 MW. The Curley Hollow Solid Waste Management Facility is regulated under the CCR rule. The facility was permitted as an active captive industrial waste landfill for the management of coal combustion residues and other waste generated at the station in July, 2009. You can find the industry-reported data here. For more information on the Virginia City Hybrid Energy Center, see EIP’s 2019 National Coal Ash Report .
