R.D. Morrow, Sr. Generating Station has 9 groundwater monitoring wells, 9 of which have been polluted above federal advisory levels based on samples collected between October 29, 2015 and August 22, 2017. Groundwater at this site contains unsafe levels of lithium, cobalt, sulfate, boron, arsenic, beryllium, molybdenum, lead, thallium, radium, chromium and mercury.

Site description

R.D. Morrow, Sr. Generating Station is operated by Cooperative Energy and owned by the South Mississippi Electric Power Association near Purvis, Mississippi. Morrow is located near Black Creek. The disposal units at this facility include one 72-acre CCR landfill and two smaller, unlined CCR surface impoundments (two acres total).
