Clear Springs Ranch has 10 groundwater monitoring wells, 10 of which have been polluted above federal advisory levels based on samples collected between June 22, 2016 and November 14, 2017. Groundwater at this site contains unsafe levels of lithium, sulfate, selenium, thallium, boron, arsenic, cobalt, antimony and radium.

Site description

Clear Springs Ranch is owned by Colorado Springs Utilities in Fountain, Colorado. Clear Springs has one landfill regulated under the federal coal ash rule, which has been operational since the 1970s. There are no drinking water wells located where the landfill is located.
